Topic:         EVIDENCE OF SALVATION

Text:                II Corinthians 5:17

We have learnt some time ago that salvation is by God’s grace. It is not by our good works or good. But how do we know that someone is saved? When a boy or girl is saved, you will see it in his or her life. What you see in the behaviour and overall lifestyle is called fruit, evidence or proof.

GOD’S DESIRE FOR ALL MEN
John 3:16; Romans 10:1; Matthew 1:21; I Timothy 1:15; 2:4; Titus 3:5

God wants all men to be saved from their sins and Satan.  In John 3:16, we read, “For God so loved the world, that He gave us His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God does not want you to die and go to hell fire. When you are saved, you will hate bad behaviour like fighting, quarrelling, cursing, stealing, lying, stubbornness, being heady and disobedient. He wants you to put away all these evils and allow His Spirit to dwell in you. God will not live in a dirty heart. The Spirit of God will help us to live a life of righteousness, godliness and holiness.

FRUIT OF SALVATION
Galatians 5:22,23; Phil. 2:5; II Timothy 4:2; Colossians 3:12-17,20.

God has called us into a life of holiness and righteousness. Since God is holy, all His friends must be holy. We need to live a peaceful life with our neighbours, speak the truth from our heart always, live a humble life. We also must be prayerful, and preach the gospel – the good news. We must help others to see Jesus by our own good life. Study your Bible daily, meditate on God’s word, memorise verses of the Bible, at least once a week. Children, stand firm in the Lord and He shall bless you.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR SALVATION
II Timothy 4:2; Colossians 3:16

God will greatly bless boys and girls who repent and wholly trust in His word. Abraham believed in God and he got Born-again boys and girls are likened to branches of a tree (vine), while Jesus is the Tree. Remain as a branch so that you do get not get dried up. If you remain in Jesus, He will refresh you daily. Read your Bible, pray regularly, attend fellowship always and have born again children as your friends. Pray as you wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Encourage other born again children to rejoice in the Lord. Hate every evil work; love God more day by day. Heaven is sure for you. You can trust God for all things and at all times.
