Topic:         THE WAY OF SALVATION

Topic:              Ephesians 2:2,13; Romans 6:23; John 3:1-7; Luke 19:1-9

The bible teaches that the salvation of sinners is totally by grace, that we have no righteousness or goodness of our own. We do not merit the divine love or favour of God, but because of His unfailing love and mercy, He paid the price for our salvation. Without salvation, no man shall enter the kingdom of God.

WHAT IS SALVATION?   Luke 19:1-9; Romans 10:1,9-10; Luke 1:77
In a broad definition, salvation includes deliverance from enemies, pain, sickness, sufferings and finally from eternal death. In the sense of our lesson, salvation is deliverance, rescue, preservation and protection from sin and evil. Without salvation, we cannot see God. Salvation is by the grace God has extended unto both boys and girls and all men. We get it through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The source of the grace of salvation is God.

WHY IS SALVATION NECESSARY?   Hebrews 2:3; 9:27; John 3: 1-7; Romans 6:23

The salvation of our soul is necessary because God himself gave the commandment and Jesus Christ, the Son of God also preached it. “How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him, God also bearing them witness both with signs and wonders”. Children, we need to take this lesson seriously and make a lasting decision to follow the Lord all our lives. Remember that “…it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgement.” We should not play or joke with it. We should make the decision now and our decision will help us to have the hope of living with Jesus in His heavenly mansions. Decide today and be saved from your sins.

HOW CAN YOU BE SAVED?   1 John 1:6-10; Romans 10:1, 9:10

Salvation is through grace that God has shown to us through His Son Jesus Christ. We need to come to God in humility of heart, acknowledging that we have sinned and have come short of the glory of God. We must be determined in our heart that we want to let go of our sins and want Jesus to live to live in our hearts

To be saved, you must (i) Know that you have sinned. (ii) Confess your sins unto God. (iii) Repent of all your sins – all the bad and naughty behaviour. (iv) Invite Jesus into your heart and allow Him to rule and reign in your life. (v) Pray unto God in faith and believe that He is now your new Friend who will help you to do all good things. He will help you in trials, at school, protecting you and guide you. He will fill you with his love and goodness and, at last, you will live with Him in Heaven. Make the decision today; delay is dangerous.
